We must speak up...

"For You formed my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well.  My frame was not hidden from You, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in Your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there were none of them." Psalm 139:13-16

As I'm sure you know...we are coming up on the 37 anniversary of Roe v. Wade. This infamous Supreme Court ruling made abortion legal in our country. Since then an average of 46 million unborn babies have been killed....an estimated 4000 every day. And that is just here in America!
Due to the hard work of pro-lifers around the country, many babies have been saved, and many woman have found healing from the emotional trauma of abortion and forgiveness in Jesus Christ.

The public has been fed the lie that a "fetus" is just a blob of tissue and can be "conveniently" disposed of. That it causes no harm to the mother, emotionally or physically and that the child growing inside her is not really a life. Unfortunately, many people have swallowed this lie. They are not aware of the facts that at three weeks the baby's heart begins to beat; all internal organs are in place at eight weeks; and at nine weeks an unborn baby can feel pain. Nor are they aware of the emotional effects that a woman will suffer for years after an abortion.
Even more lamentable, in my opinion, are the many people (especially those who say they are Christians) that choose not to take a stand against this evil because they don't want to step on any toes. I wonder what it would take for them to take a stand against abortion. How can people be outraged that someone would kill a newborn baby, but shrug their shoulders if that same child is still in the womb? This illogical thinking astonishes me. That a man can be charged with manslaughter if he injures a pregnant woman and the baby in her womb dies, but if that same woman decides that she doesn't want the child, she can abort that same baby and people applaud her right to choose. What??

When I read the following news article I was disgusted. But I couldn't help but see the stupidity of it all. I mean, how come this abortion doctor gets charged with murder for killing babies born alive...but if the babies are killed moments before birth, no one bats an eye? Born or still in the womb, the baby is a life...and killing that life is murder.

Philadelphia Abortion Doctor Charged With Eight Counts of Murder

Thank goodness that some people in this world will speak up for these helpless little ones! You can too.
You can pray for an end to abortion. You can educate yourself about candidates who will fight against abortion and vote for them. You can get involved in a pro-life group in your area and participate in pro-life events. We can't do everything, but we all can do something.

"Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.  If you say, 'Behold, we did not know this,' does not He who weighs the heart perceive it?     Does not He who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will He not repay man according to his work?" Proverbs 24:11-12

In January of 1984 President Reagan issued a proclamation designating the third Sunday in January to be "Sanctity of Human Life Day". So this Sunday, please remember the ones who perish everyday under the banner of "choice", and ask yourself where you stand on this important issue.
